Spain, Belgium and Portugal spread the latest news

There has recently been online gambling news from some of the European states, concerning online gambling liberalization and not only.

In Spain, the land based gambling group Codere has launched a legal action campaign against the leading European online gambling operators, motivating that they have an unfair commercial advantage due to their illegal access to the Spanish market before the legalization of online gambling.

Codere has got an injunction from a court in Madrid to block Sportingbet's Miapuesta website and forced the operator to pay €2 million, as for PokerStars, a court from Barcelona declined to award the injunction.

In Belgium the online gambling regulatory regime has been implemented and the country wants unlicensed gambling websites ff the stage. The blacklist has been already made and sent to the authorities and those sites who will close for Belgium players will be taken out from the list.

In Portugal online gambling is legal and the country is striving to cover on the retirement of  bankers in 2012, with the revenues generated by online gambling taxes, expected to reach €250 millions.
